Why use Text Match Cut Maker
A real MP4, made in seconds
Frames are drawn and encoded with your browser's own video encoder, so export takes about as long as the clip itself, or less, and the file plays everywhere an H.264 video does.
Two layouts
Choose huge words for a bold look, or a dense newspaper page with your word inside a headline for the classic feel.
Six distinct styles
Newspaper, ransom note, typewriter, sticky notes, neon and chalkboard each have their own fonts, paper and motion, not one look recolored.
Full control of the effect
Cuts per second, zoom, blur, length, highlight color, shape and sound are all adjustable, with a live looping preview.
Longer phrases
Use up to 80 characters and 14 words. Long phrases wrap around the highlighted word and run off the edges of the frame.
No watermark, no ad wall
Nothing is stamped on the video and you never have to watch an ad to create one.
Everything stays on your device
Rendering, encoding and sound all happen in your browser. Your phrase is never sent anywhere.

About Text Match Cut Maker
The match cut comes from film editing, where two shots share a shape or position so the cut feels seamless. The text version applies the same idea to type. The highlighted word keeps the same position and about the same width on every cut, so your eye stays on it, while everything around it changes. That contrast is what makes the effect feel fast and deliberate at the same time.
Here is what the tool does for each cut. It measures your focal word in the chosen font and sets the size so the word fills the same share of the frame every time, and small enough that it still fits inside the frame once the camera has zoomed in. It wraps the rest of the phrase around it, slides the whole block so the focal word lands in the center, and then applies that cut's own font, text case, tilt and colors. A marker highlight sits behind the word. Across the whole clip the camera zooms in slowly. Each cut starts with a short blur that clears as it settles, and the last cut is a clean, larger version that holds for up to a second.
There are six styles. Newspaper cycles through serif and headline fonts on newsprint. Ransom note gives every word its own font, color and paper box, like letters cut from different magazines. Typewriter uses typed pages with uneven ink. Sticky notes uses marker handwriting on colored notes. Neon draws glowing signs on a dark wall. Chalkboard uses chalk lettering on a board. You can change the speed from 4 to 24 cuts per second, the zoom from 1x to 2.5x, the blur, the length from 2 to 8 seconds, and the highlight color, and you can shuffle the random choices for a different sequence of cuts.
There are two layouts. Big words sets your phrase very large and lets the words around the highlighted one run off the edges of the frame. Newspaper page fills the whole frame with small lines of filler text, like a column of newsprint, and puts your highlighted word inside a headline in the middle. In that layout every cut wraps your word in a different headline wording, with different filler text, rules, a caption and a byline around it, and the final frame shows your own phrase as the headline. The filler text is built in and neutral, so it never says anything about real people or events. Headlines are broken into lines so the highlighted word sits in the middle of its line and the whole headline stays inside the zoomed frame. The headlines are templates for a visual effect, not real reporting, so do not use the clip to suggest that a real publication said something it did not.
Exporting does not record the screen. The tool draws each frame at full size and hands it to your browser's built-in video encoder, then packs the result into an MP4 (H.264) or WebM file. Nothing is played back live, so a three second clip usually takes about three seconds or less, and the longest, busiest clip takes roughly as long as it plays. The formats on offer depend on what your browser can encode. Recent Chrome and Edge offer both, and other browsers offer what they support. The sound is synthesized in your browser too, so there are no audio files to license.
A few honest limits. This is a template based effect, not AI, and every cut is drawn from the options you choose. The fonts cover Latin letters, so other scripts fall back to a system font. The blur uses a browser feature that some older browsers lack, in which case the cuts are simply sharp. The fonts are open licence fonts that allow commercial use, but you are responsible for the words you put in the video.

Pro tips
- Short phrases of two to six words read best. The highlighted word is what people should remember.
- Pick a word with at least four letters. Very short words become huge and leave little room for the style to show.
- For TikTok and Reels use 9:16, and keep the length near 3 seconds so it works as a hook.
- Higher cuts per second feels more frantic. Around 10 to 14 is easy to follow, and 18 or more is intense.
- Try Ransom note with a longer phrase. Every word gets a different look, so the page looks busier.
- Switch the layout to Newspaper page for the classic look: a full page of small text with your word highlighted inside a headline.
- Use Play with sound in the preview to hear the soundtrack before you export.

Frequently asked questions
What is a text match cut?
A short video that shows the same phrase in many different looks, one after another, while one highlighted word stays in the same spot on screen. It is popular as an opening hook on TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Is this tool free?
Yes. There is no cost, no signup, no watermark and no limit on how many videos you make.
What file do I get?
An MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio where your browser supports it, or a WebM with VP9 or VP8 video and Opus audio. The tool shows only the formats your browser can create.
Is the video made by AI?
No. It is a template based effect. Every cut is drawn from the style and settings you choose, and the random choices are fixed by a shuffle seed so the preview and the export match.
Can I use the video commercially?
The fonts are open licence fonts that allow commercial use, and the sounds are generated in your browser, so nothing in the video comes from a restricted source. You are still responsible for the words you use.
Does it work for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?
Yes. Use the 9:16 shape for all three. The video is 1080 x 1920 at 30 frames per second.
Why is the word I picked so large?
In the Big words layout the tool sizes the font so the highlighted word fills the same width on every cut, and still fits once the camera has zoomed in. A short word therefore becomes very big. Pick a longer word, or switch to the Newspaper page layout for a smaller look.
What is the Newspaper page layout?
A layout that fills the frame with small lines of filler text like a newspaper column and puts your highlighted word inside a headline in the middle. Each cut changes the headline wording and the filler text, and the last frame shows your own phrase.
Is my phrase uploaded anywhere?
No. The video is drawn and encoded in your browser. Only the font files are loaded from this site.
Troubleshooting
The Create video button is disabled.
Your browser has no video encoder for the chosen format. Switch to the other format if one is available, or use a recent version of Chrome, Edge or Safari. The preview always works.
My video has no sound.
Some browsers can encode video but not audio in a given format. Try the other format. If you chose No sound, the video is silent by design.
I do not see any blur.
The blur uses a canvas feature that some older browsers do not support. The cuts still work, they are just sharp. Raise the Blur slider in a current Chrome or Edge to see it.
The preview looks different from the video.
They use the same drawing code at different sizes, so they should match. If you pressed Shuffle cuts after the preview changed, create the video again so it uses the current sequence.
Part of my headline is cut off in the Newspaper page layout.
Headlines are broken so the highlighted word sits in the middle of its line, and lines are kept inside the zoomed frame. A very long single word can still be wider than the frame, and more zoom leaves less room. Lower the Zoom slider or choose a shorter word to show more of the headline.
My phrase has letters that look wrong.
The built-in fonts cover Latin letters. Other scripts fall back to a font on your device, which may not match the style.
